- Come up with next out of class meeting date: today at 1pm. Meet in front of Jamba Juice in downtown Santa Cruz.
 - Start "Holding Hands" experiment on the corner of Walnut and Pacific Ave.
                         * what we did:
We asked random strangers in down town to hold our hands and help us across the street because we were "afraid of cars" (Ella's idea.. a very interesting idea)
                        * Who we asked:
We asked people of all ages from the elderly to couples to children. We asked both men and women, kids, teens, service men, police officers, etc.
                       * What was our Goal?
Our goal was to determine how many people of each age group and profession would "lend a helping hand".

Ella got a lot of help from some very handy "handy men"

  EGG DROP!!

For our Egg Drop in class today, we started out with 1 regular sized raw egg and 20 imaginary points to spend on supplies and materials for the egg drop.
  With our 20 points we spent 13 points on:
- 4 huge pieces of duck tape
- a bundle of string
- 1 small Styrofoam cup
- and a large bundle of toilet paper

We then waited it out a bit and spent 7 more points on:
- 4 more giant pieces of duck tape
- a handful of regular sized purple printer paper and envelopes
- and 1 plastic bag

We then had 2 imaginary points left over and had to throw them away.. ) ;

OUR EGG SURVIVED THE EGG DROP!!!

We then had to name out precious little egg since he managed to survive. We named him:

 - ELLA'S EPIPHANY

          * For the helping hands part of our experiments:
We want to see if we can help people out to their cars from big chain stores and other smaller owned stores like Costco, Walmart, and other assorted grocery/hardware stores that don't offer that kind of service.
We want to see who and how many people would say yes to our offers to help, and who would say no, or ask us to leave the premises.. (Costco) *hint *hint *wink *wink*

 - We discussed a time and meeting place for our first attempt at Ella's Epiphany (the social experiment)

  * what we did: we tried Ella's Epiphany and although we were at both Walmart and Costco, only one person said yes and accepted our help out to her car. after that, Brandon talked with the main manager of Costco and they told us we had to leave the premises.
  * Conclusion: Costco doesn't like people helping their customers push their carts to their cars and back.

Possible Extra Experiment: Look Over There!!
  In which, you are to pretend that you see something interesting or funny out the window of a class room or in the ocean at the beach.
  The Objective: to see if you can get a whole class to look out the window or the whole beach to look out at the ocean trying to find what is so funny or interesting.
  Who knows.. maybe it'll work

Sky gave us an idea: To make goodie bags for the hobos in Santa Cruz since we'll be exploiting them in a way. we can make cute little baggies and put tooth brushes, tooth paste, some food snacks in them etc.
